Before you begin

This shared guide covers the RCM relay-controller series. Identify the model and SKU on the label, then use the variant table to check supply, relay count, current rating and measurement capability.

Scope of this guide

This edition covers model selection, network preparation and shared operating functions. Obtain the connection drawing and configuration reference for your exact model and firmware from Yobiiq before installation.

Installation and connections

Mount RCM on a TS35 DIN rail inside a suitable electrical cabinet. Electrical work must be performed by qualified personnel with power isolated, following the connection drawing supplied for the model.

Select the 10 A or 16 A model for the load and switching duty. Account for starting current and use an appropriately rated contactor or control interface where required. Terminal assignments must follow the model's connection drawing.

Prepare the network

RCM supports LoRaWAN 1.0.4, OTAA, and Class C by default, with Class A configurable. Match EU868 or IN865 to the supplied unit and network-server profile.

1. Obtain the device's OTAA provisioning information and access to the intended LoRaWAN network server.
2. Check gateway coverage and the regional configuration.
3. Select the RCM payload decoder and command reference for the installed firmware.
4. Obtain the Kibi Mobile App and BLE access information for local configuration.
5. Record relay assignments, schedules and the required fallback state.

Operate the device

Remote switching

Use your LoRaWAN application to request changes to the selected relay output. One-relay variants have one output; two-relay variants have two independently controlled outputs. Use the RCM command reference for the installed firmware.

Onboard schedules

The operating schedule is stored inside the RCM. Configure and verify the schedule for the connected equipment during commissioning.

Local pushbuttons

Use the pushbuttons on the device to control connected equipment locally. Follow the button assignments for the supplied variant and check the interaction with schedules and remote requests.

Configurable fallback

After power or network loss, the RCM returns to a configurable fallback state. Choose the appropriate state for the equipment, record it and verify recovery during commissioning.

Current measurement

Current measurement is available on the variants identified in the datasheet. Use the matching firmware reference for reporting and configuration.

D2D and local automation

YOBIIQ D2D supports direct communication between devices without network-server connectivity. Use the supported firmware configuration for pairing, event-driven rules and threshold automation.
